There is nothing you can do with your clothes on that is as much fun as strapping on 30 hp of green diesel and playing in the dirt! Today we mowed about 4 acres of fairly rough cover including picking up all the rocks big enough to damage the cutter, dumped three buckets of same rocks in a ditch we are filling in preparation of final grade and seeding, and then dragged gravel and slag around on the drive to smooth it a bit. All of that before 3PM.
I have no idea why I lived in the city all those years.
A JD 970 isn't the sexiest compact but this one's mine and I love it!

Eric, congratulations. Enjoy the new machine! It sounds as though you got a FEL and some type of mower with your JD 970. Did you get any other toys , errr - I mean tools for it? Don't forget to change your profile to add the new addition to your life. Dave ....

In addition to the 970 (1998 model with 1,000 hours) we bought a 430 loader, a LX5 cutter, a box blade, a rear blade, and a rock rake.
In addition, while at the dealer I saw a Trail Gator and laughingly said I 'd love to have it but my wife would never stand for it. When I told her the story she said, "Go ahead." After stewing about it for a few days, I decided I didn't want to be the first husband in history to deny his wife a Trail Gator. I get to borrow it when I'm training the dogs.
